Around 5 p.m., a Nghe An-registered 5-seater car was traveling on Provincial Road 542C, passing through Thien Nhan commune (formerly part of Nam Dan district), when fire broke out at its front. The driver promptly pulled the car to the roadside. The two adults and one child inside opened the doors and escaped within approximately 30 seconds.
Flames rapidly engulfed the vehicle, sending thick black smoke tens of meters high. Firefighting and Rescue Team number 7, under the Nghe An Provincial Police Department's Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Division, dispatched two specialized fire trucks and 12 officers to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was controlled after 20 minutes, but the entire car and its contents were destroyed. The incident, occurring during rush hour, caused traffic congestion in the area for over one hour, forcing many vehicles to turn back and take alternative routes.
