Earlier, on the afternoon of 27/6, while patrolling National Highway 21B, traffic police observed a tractor-trailer with signs of an extended cargo bed. When police signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver refused and accelerated, fleeing the scene.
The task force had to pursue, continuously using a loudspeaker to demand the vehicle stop. After a chase spanning several kilometers, the driver finally pulled over on Road 427.
On-site inspection revealed that the cargo bed dimensions had been altered, not conforming to the technical specifications listed in the Certificate of Technical Safety and Environmental Protection Inspection. The driver also failed to produce a driver's license suitable for the type of vehicle being operated.
In addition to the fine, Road Traffic Police Team No. 10 impounded the offending vehicle. The owner was ordered to restore the cargo bed to its original dimensions, as per inspection regulations, before the vehicle could be used on public roads again.
