The My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) has submitted the traffic management plan for the Nhon Trach bridge to the Ministry of Construction for review as the project nears completion. The bridge spans the Dong Nai river and is part of Component 1A of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. It's the largest bridge on the ring road, with a total length of 8.22 km, including access roads.
Component 1A is over 95% complete and is expected to be fully finished in June. However, because two connecting sections in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province are behind schedule, the investor proposes a two-phase traffic management plan.

In the first phase, from 8/2025 to 12/2026, Component 1A will operate as a regular urban road, open to cars and two- to three-wheeled vehicles in certain sections. In Dong Nai, one lane will be allocated for cars and another for mixed traffic from Provincial Road 25B to the Nhon Trach bridge. Motorbikes will not be allowed on the bridge, but can travel from Provincial Road 25B to Ly Tu Trong street.
On the Ho Chi Minh City side, cars will be able to cross the Nhon Trach bridge and then make U-turns onto connecting ramps, also linking with the Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway. Container trucks will be temporarily prohibited due to inadequate turning space.
In the second phase, starting from 12/2026, the bridge will operate as a highway once other sections of Ring Road 3 are completed. Nhon Trach bridge will have mixed traffic, with two lanes for motor vehicles and two mixed lanes, separated by a median for safety.

Construction of Component 1A began in 9/2022 with a total investment of over 6,900 billion VND, funded by a South Korean ODA loan through the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and domestic counterpart funds. The project has completed technical trials, asphalt paving, railing installation, and lighting, and is ready for operation.
Ring Road 3 passes through Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Long An provinces, with a total length of over 90 km. A 15.3 km section in Binh Duong is already complete. The remaining sections, excluding Component 1A, total over 76 km and are under construction by local authorities with a total investment of nearly 75,400 billion VND. The entire ring road is expected to be completed in 2026, improving transportation and boosting economic and social development in the southern key economic zone.
