Truck fire on Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway causes traffic congestion

A cargo truck fiercely caught fire while traveling on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, specifically through Xuan Hoa commune, leading to prolonged traffic congestion on the afternoon of 12/2.

Around 4 PM on 12/2, a truck caught fire while traveling on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, heading from Dong Nai to Lam Dong. The driver noticed smoke from the cabin and immediately pulled the vehicle to the shoulder. The driver and other motorists attempted to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers, but their efforts were unsuccessful as the blaze quickly intensified.

Within moments, the fire engulfed the entire truck and spread to dry grass along the expressway. The incident occurred during heavy traffic, as many people were returning home for the Tet holiday, causing prolonged congestion on the expressway.

Authorities quickly arrived to extinguish the fire and manage traffic flow at the scene. No casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

This fire follows a series of recent vehicle blazes. Earlier this morning, a sleeper bus carrying 34 passengers also caught fire on National Highway 1 as it passed through Hoa Xuan commune in Lam Dong province. The bus fire caused estimated damages of approximately 3 billion dong.
