The N3 bridge ramp is a key component of the An Phu interchange project, located in what was formerly Thu Duc City. This area is known for having Ho Chi Minh City's most complex traffic situation. The Ho Chi Minh City Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Projects, the project owner, stated that over 90% of the work on this item has been completed, and progress is being accelerated for its scheduled opening during the upcoming holiday.

The N3 ramp is part of construction package 10, with a total investment of approximately 236 billion dong. The structure is nearly 500 meters long and 9 meters wide, featuring two one-way lanes. Once operational, vehicles traveling from Mai Chi Tho Boulevard (towards Vo Nguyen Giap) will be able to turn left directly onto Dong Van Cong, proceeding straight to Cat Lai port. This new traffic flow will help separate vehicle streams, particularly container trucks, thereby reducing pressure on the interchange.
Also part of the same construction package, the N4 ramp, measuring 478 meters long and 9 meters wide with two lanes in the opposite direction, is currently under construction. It is expected to be completed by the end of june, further enhancing the area's connectivity system.

The An Phu interchange stands as one of Ho Chi Minh City's largest traffic hubs, connecting the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway with key arteries like Mai Chi Tho, Luong Dinh Cua, Nguyen Thi Dinh, and Dong Van Cong. This area serves as a vital gateway to Cat Lai port, handling a substantial volume of container trucks, averaging over 20,000 trips daily.
The An Phu interchange project, which began in 2022, has a total investment exceeding 3,400 billion dong. It is designed as a three-level structure, incorporating an underpass and multiple overpass ramps. The project was initially slated for completion by the end of 2025 but later had its timeline adjusted to Q2 of this year.

Several other components have already been opened, including an overpass ramp allowing vehicles to turn right from the expressway onto Mai Chi Tho (towards Vo Nguyen Giap), and an underpass connecting Mai Chi Tho to the expressway. These additions have contributed to reducing congestion in the area. Furthermore, the Ba Dat and Giong Ong To bridges have also been completed.
