Truck overturns on Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway, one dead

A truck carrying two people crashed through a guardrail and overturned down an embankment on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway, killing one person on the morning of 18/7.

At 5:45 AM, a truck with Ho Chi Minh City license plates traveling north-south on the expressway crashed near Ha Huy Tap ward. One person died at the scene, while the other was hospitalized.

The truck lay overturned below the embankment, its front mangled, glass shattered, and one wheel detached. Several meters of guardrail and a steel mesh fence were torn down, scattering debris across the scene.

Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4, part of the Traffic Police Department (CSGT), is coordinating with Ha Tinh authorities. They are diverting traffic and investigating the accident's cause.

According to the expressway management, conditions at the time of the crash were clear, with a normal road surface and complete traffic safety signage.

The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway spans nearly 54 km. Its first phase features four lanes, with a maximum speed limit of 90 km/h and a minimum of 60 km/h.
