Around 1 AM, smoke and flames erupted from a roughly 50 square meter house located deep within an alley in District 12. Neighbors rushed to help, pulling water hoses and attempting to break down doors to extinguish the flames. However, due to intense flames at the front entrance, some resorted to climbing onto the corrugated iron roof to fight the blaze, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
Within minutes, the fire spread rapidly, trapping the three individuals inside the house, who subsequently perished.
Ms. Huong, a neighbor living near the scene, stated that the house was occupied by a mother in her 40s and her two children, a boy and a girl, aged 8 to 14. At the time of the fire, the husband was working in Lam Dong. "The fire was enormous," Ms. Huong recounted, "Everyone tried to pull water and break down the doors, but it was too late."
The house's location in a deep, narrow alley, less than 2 meters wide and about 50 meters from Cho Cau Bridge, created significant access difficulties for emergency responders.
A representative from the Dong Hung Thuan Ward People's Committee confirmed that the fire resulted in three fatalities. Authorities have completely extinguished the blaze and are currently cordoning off and examining the scene before the victims' bodies are removed.
