two women killed by semi-truck collision

two women riding a motorbike on National Highway 1 bypass were struck by a semi-truck traveling in the opposite direction, dying at the scene on the afternoon of 7/3.

Around 3 PM on 7/3, two women over 40 years old, residents of Hoanh Son ward, were riding a motorbike together on the National Highway 1 bypass, traveling north-south. As they passed through Song Tri ward (formerly part of Ky Anh town), their motorbike was struck by a Lao-registered semi-truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The two victims died at the scene, and their motorbike was thrown down an embankment about 3 m deep. The semi-truck hit and knocked down a section of guardrail before swerving sideways and blocking the middle of the road, causing minor traffic congestion.

At the scene, the semi-truck sustained minor damage and nearly plunged down a steep slope. The motorbike was severely damaged, with debris scattered and oil spilled onto the road.

The Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police dispatched officers to direct traffic and arrange for a tow truck to remove the damaged vehicles. The scene was cleared after 5 PM.
