Typhoon Maysak made landfall in Mong Cai around 22h on 4/7, after approaching the Quang Ninh coast at approximately 19h the same day. The storm brought winds of level 9-10, causing widespread damage. By about 2h on 5/7, the typhoon's eye had moved to the southern part of Guangxi province (China), according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
Local authorities and residents are now assessing the aftermath. Cleanup efforts began immediately after the storm passed, with forces clearing pine trees from Hung Vuong street in Mong Cai 2 ward.

By 5h on 5/7, the typhoon's eye was in southern Guangxi province (China), approximately 63 km north of Mong Cai. The storm had level 8 winds, gusting to level 10, moving northeast at 5-10 km/h. Although it had left Vietnamese mainland, the storm's circulation still caused level 6-7 winds, gusting to level 8, in northeastern Quang Ninh province.
