Around 6:30 PM, rain and wind swept through Thu Dau Mot and Binh Duong wards, causing localized flooding on roads. Gusts caused a 5-meter-high, 20-meter-wide steel welcome gate on Huynh Van Luy Street, Binh Duong Ward, near the Pham Ngoc Thach intersection, to collapse across the road.

According to Anh Ha, who lives near the scene, the area experienced rain and wind when the gate collapsed. The structure was located about 10 meters from a traffic light. At the time of the incident, the road was clear of people.
Following the incident, the road became impassable, forcing residents to detour to other routes.
Leaders of Binh Duong Ward People's Committee stated that after the incident, authorities arrived to cordon off the scene, deploying specialized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to handle the situation. By 8 PM, crews had cut power to the gate and cleared the debris, allowing traffic to resume normally.
Ho Chi Minh City has entered the peak of its rainy season in recent days. Widespread rain has caused localized flooding on roads and residential areas. The forecast for the coming days indicates continued heavy evening rain, increasing in both area and volume.
