The decision was signed by the Prime Minister on 1/10.
Lieutenant General Le Minh Quang assumed his new role after serving nearly 22 months as Political Commissar of Corps 34. Previously, he was the head of the Politics Department of Military Region 9.
Major General Tran Minh Trong, deputy political commissar of Military Region 5, has been appointed Political Commissar of Corps 34, succeeding Lieutenant General Le Minh Quang.
The General Department of Politics oversees Party and political work across the entire military, operating under the leadership of the Secretariat and the direct, regular guidance of the Central Military Commission. Its functional agencies are responsible for organization, personnel, propaganda, training, military security, policy, and mass mobilization.
The current head of the General Department of Politics is General Nguyen Trong Nghia, a Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission.

On the same day, the Prime Minister appointed Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Bach, deputy commander and chief of staff of the Navy, as head of the General Department of National Defense Industry. He replaces Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan, who retired.
Major General Huynh Tan Hung, deputy head of the General Department of Logistics - Engineering, was appointed Political Commissar of the General Department of Logistics - Engineering. He succeeds Lieutenant General Do Van Thien, who retired.
Colonel Le Van Son, deputy chief of staff of Military Region 2, was appointed deputy commander and chief of staff of Military Region 2.
The Prime Minister also extended the service term and retained the position until the end of 11/2027 for Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc, head of the General Department of Logistics - Engineering.
Three officers had their terms of office extended until their mandatory retirement age: Major General Tran Van Xuan, deputy political commissar and head of the Politics Department of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Major General Le Van Long, deputy commander of Military Region 3; and Major General Dam Xuan Tuan, deputy commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
