Coach Kim Sang-sik of Vietnam addressed the media today at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) headquarters in Hanoi. The South Korean coach convened the press conference at 11h30 to discuss the upcoming ASEAN Cup 2026 final second leg.

The press conference comes as Vietnam holds a commanding lead in the final series. Goals from Nguyen Hai Long and Nguyen Quang Hai secured a 2-0 victory for Vietnam against Thailand in the first leg, played at Rajamangala Stadium on 22/8. This result provides Vietnam with a significant advantage heading into the return fixture. The team will only lose the championship if they suffer a three-goal defeat in regular time or a two-goal deficit during extra time.

Vietnam enters the decisive match with strong momentum under coach Kim Sang-sik. Thailand's last and only victory against Vietnam at My Dinh Stadium occurred in 9/2024, with a 2-1 scoreline in a friendly match.
