On 11/9, Lee Changsub posted an over 40-minute video about his trip to Vietnam, titled "How I survived after almost dying in Phu Quoc".
He visited Phu Quoc for a vacation to celebrate his YouTube channel reaching 200,000 subscribers. Before the trip, the singer expressed concern because Phu Quoc is an island region, and a fortune teller had advised him to be careful around water this year. Despite this, Changsub decided to embark on the trip.
In Phu Quoc, after enjoying coconut coffee, the singer participated in a drawing game and received the challenge of experiencing a basket boat tour on Cua Can River, located about 6 km from the island's center.

The tour, lasting 45-60 minutes and costing 200,000 VND, includes visiting a floating market, enjoying local fruits on the river, fishing with locals, and performing a basket dance.
Changsub praised the beautiful scenery of Cua Can River and the pleasant atmosphere, recommending fans try a basket boat ride in Vietnam at least one time. However, he grew concerned when the sky darkened, followed by heavy rain, forcing the group to take shelter in a hut.
After the rain subsided, the group of Korean tourists continued their basket boat experience. The boat spun rapidly on the river, making Changsub dizzy and almost ill. He compared the experience to Disco Pang Pang, a popular thrill ride in South Korea.

Besides the basket boat, the singer also experienced a full-body massage, exfoliation, and visited the Phu Quoc night market with 100,000 VND. There, he tried horseshoe crab, durian, mangosteen, peanuts, and seafood noodle soup. Changsub commented that horseshoe crab tasted like lobster, while he shivered when trying durian with two Vietnamese tourists.
Eight days after being posted, the video attracted over 1.1 million views and thousands of comments. Many viewers praised Phu Quoc's beautiful scenery and enjoyed Changsub's experiences, while some advised against visiting the island during this period due to the rainy season.
South Korea was Vietnam's second-largest international tourist market in the first eight months of the year, with 2.76 million arrivals, accounting for almost 20% of total international visitors.
According to Korean travel blogger Park Woo Sung, since 2022, Phu Quoc has become a destination of interest for Korean tourists with the introduction of direct flights from Seoul. In late 2023, the Yonhap news agency referred to Phu Quoc as the "Maldives of Vietnam" in an article.
