Since the September 2 holiday, the Trang Tien ice cream establishment at 35 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem Ward, has been consistently crowded with customers queuing for ice cream in the evenings. Many patrons shared their desire to enjoy the ice cream one last time before the shop closes on 15/9.

According to a representative for the Trang Tien ice cream brand, the 35 Trang Tien location has "completed its historical mission" after 68 years of serving generations of customers. This transition is part of a system development plan, aiming for more modern spaces and improved customer experiences. The brand has already opened several other stores in nearby areas: 18 Hang Bai, 44 Trang Tien, and 18 Ngo Quyen.

"We hope customers will take the time to preserve their final memories here," the brand representative stated, adding that since the closing announcement on 4/9, the number of visitors to the location has been "very large." Many customers have come to take photos and share memories on the "memory wall" to show appreciation and bid farewell to the shop.

Observations on 7/9 showed that from 19h, long lines of people extended from the sidewalk into the street. The shop does not provide many seating options, so most customers enjoyed their ice cream while standing along the sidewalk after receiving their orders.

Pham Thi Duc, 60 years old, from Hong Ha Ward, mentioned that her habit of eating ice cream while standing at 35 Trang Tien began when she was a middle school student. "Even if the shop moves elsewhere and the ice cream flavor remains the same, I feel a sense of loss seeing the place that holds my youth memories about to disappear," she said.

For younger customers, this location offered an irreplaceable street experience. Nguyen Tu Anh, a 21-year-old student, noted that while there are many ice cream brands on the market, she still loves the traditional flavors of green sticky rice, mung bean, and coconut milk found here.

According to a salesperson at the location, since the closing announcement, customer numbers have doubled compared to normal days, keeping staff constantly busy.

Located at 35 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem District, Kem Trang Tien is a beloved spot for local and international visitors to Hanoi. Opened in 1958, this ice cream shop was recognized by experts from Taste Atlas as part of Hanoi's culinary heritage, making it into the top "100 legendary ice cream parlors" worldwide in 2023.
