Building on the success of its inaugural event, this year's festival features many unique activities. It aims to honor the 300-year-old flower and ornamental plant village and strengthen Sa Dec's position on the international tourism map. Local representatives state that the event promotes the Sa Dec flower brand, fosters green agricultural tourism, and supports local socio-economic development.

Highlights of the festival include elaborately designed exhibition spaces. Visitors can admire the "Sa Dec Flower Colors Space", showcasing 1,000 rare flower and ornamental plant varieties, and the "Heritage Land" space, which recreates the ancient culture of Dong Thap province.
A special feature is the "One Hundred Years of Flower Village Scents" live show, expected to narrate the history and development of the flower village through emotional artistic expression.
Additionally, a hot air balloon experience, introduced for the first time, offers visitors a panoramic view of the flower city from above. Other activities include competitions for flower gates, flower roads, and beautiful gardens, a flower and ornamental plant market, the "Southern Flavors" food street, and trade connection seminars. These activities will run throughout the 9-day festival.
In preparation for the event, Dong Thap province is upgrading transportation infrastructure and enhancing urban aesthetics to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Main roads leading to the flower village are being widened and decorated with miniatures and artistic lighting to greet visitors.
Many gardeners and cooperatives in Sa Dec are actively preparing hundreds of thousands of flower baskets for the festival and the upcoming Lunar New Year market. Farmers are investing in new, unique varieties, such as South American sunflowers, to enhance the festival's diversity and appeal.
The first Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival, held from 30/12/2023 to 5/1/2024, attracted over 245,000 visitors and generated approximately 98 billion VND in tourism revenue. Dong Thap province leaders expect the second festival to provide a significant boost, creating a vibrant event space for residents and visitors, and fostering opportunities for cooperation and sustainable development for the region's main flower and ornamental plant industry.
