In an interview with Lebanon's Al Manar television, broadcast on 27/8, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, was asked to comment on reports that the US suspected Tehran of targeting Barron Trump, the youngest son of US President Donald Trump.

The top advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei rejected the accusation, blaming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instead.

"These are terrible lies that Netanyahu uses to deceive Trump. If we decide to act, no one will be able to stop us. These lies are all fabricated by Netanyahu," General Rezaei stated.

Rezaei also referenced President Trump's secret plane change in early July, when he switched from Air Force One to a military aircraft to travel from Turkey to the UK. The senior Iranian official suggested this proved the US leader was truly afraid.

"He arrived in Turkey on a huge plane. Netanyahu threatened that Iran planned an assassination, so they transferred him into a food truck and smuggled him out like a worker," Rezaei remarked.

Rezaei's remarks followed the broadcast of a nearly three-minute video about Barron Trump by Iranian state television and media outlets associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) last weekend.

While denying the alleged plot to assassinate Barron Trump, General Rezaei did not comment on the video published by his country's media.

The video, titled in English "Where to Kill Barron Trump?!", used graphics simulating locations where the US president's son frequently appears, including Trump Tower in New York and a New York University dormitory.

In the video, a narrator suggested many people were "eagerly awaiting" a 10 million USD reward. The video also showed a scene of Barron playing a video game when he received a warning message: "We are getting closer. Perhaps we are right behind you."

The US Secret Service announced on 24/8 that it was aware of the information and investigating the threat.

Hardline Iranian media channels have repeatedly published content threatening Trump and his family after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several family members were killed in a US and Israeli airstrike on 28/2.

In July, Tasnim broadcast a video threatening First Lady Melania, mentioning locations she frequented in Manhattan and details about her activities.
