The Lebanese army announced today that Israel continued attacks and shelling on several villages, violating the ceasefire agreement. The army urged residents to be cautious when returning to residential areas and towns in the south.
The Lebanese military also called on people to comply with instructions from deployed units to ensure safety, especially at night, and to avoid dangerous areas.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not commented on the information.

US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon would begin a 10-day ceasefire from the afternoon of 16/4. He stated he had invited Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House for peace negotiations.
President Trump expressed hope that the armed group Hezbollah in Lebanon "would behave well and appropriately" during this period. "If they do, it will be a great moment. No more deaths, peace will finally come", he said.
However, Hassan Fadlallah, a senior Hezbollah lawmaker, stated that the group's adherence to the ceasefire would depend on Israel's commitment to ending all hostilities.
Meanwhile, an Israeli security official stated that the country's army "has no plans to withdraw troops from southern Lebanon" under any ceasefire agreement.

Israel began attacking Lebanon on 2/3 in response to attacks from Hezbollah, a close ally of Iran. This occurred a few days after Israel and the US launched a large-scale coordinated air campaign against Iran. The conflict in Lebanon has killed over 2,000 people and displaced 1.2 million.
After the US and Iran ceased fire, Israel intensified its offensive against Lebanon. Iran declared Lebanon an "inseparable part" of any long-term peace agreement, a stance Israel opposed.
