The armed robbery occurred around 8:20 a.m. on 23/3/2026 at a Bank of America ATM located at 1900 North Frazier Street in Conroe, Texas.
Security camera footage from a nearby business showed a light-colored pickup truck pulling up next to the ATM, a man getting out, pausing for a minute, and then leaving.
Police later received reports of a shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, they found Quang Truong, 59, a security guard for Brinks, an American company specializing in cash transport for ATMs, shot in the torso. Mr. Truong received first aid and was transported to a nearby hospital for surgery in critical condition.

While securing the scene, police received tracking signals from the money boxes taken from the ATM. Authorities later identified the suspect's vehicle as a gray Dodge traveling northbound on I-45 freeway.
Conroe city police and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office coordinated to intercept the suspect's vehicle south of FM 830 road. However, before law enforcement could approach, the 41-year-old suspect committed suicide with a gun. Police have not released the individual's identity.
Authorities are expanding their investigation with the FBI, stating that the stolen money has been recovered.
