The dramatic incident occurred on the afternoon of 7/6 in Dodam-dong, Sejong. A BRT bus unexpectedly veered onto the sidewalk at high speed, causing panic among pedestrians. Among those who narrowly escaped were a mother and her young son, thanks to her swift intervention.
The out-of-control bus then struck several parked bicycles before colliding with a store located at the front of a commercial building, where it finally came to a halt.
Following the crash, the bus driver, estimated to be in their 40s, and one passenger sustained injuries. Both were transported to a hospital for treatment. There were six passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident.
Fortunately, no one was inside the shopping center when the incident occurred, preventing further injuries. However, the impact caused damage to several windows and some internal furnishings of the store.

Authorities identified the vehicle as a BRT B2 bus, which operates on a route known for having the second-highest passenger volume in the Sejong region. Police suspect driver negligence as the cause of the accident and are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances.
