BYD officially launched the Song Ultra EV on 26/3, a new electric vehicle model featuring impressive fast-charging capabilities and a competitive price point. Available in four versions, the Song Ultra EV is priced from 151,900-179,900 yuan (USD 21,000–24,800), and has already garnered over 21,586 pre-orders.
The Song Ultra EV stands out with its minimalist front design, characterized by a black grille and integrated headlights. Daytime running lights span the entire front width of the vehicle, while the body features a distinctive black D-pillar and 19-inch wheels. At the rear, a full-width LED taillight strip is complemented by a roof spoiler. Buyers can choose from 6 exterior colors.

The cabin of the Song Ultra EV offers a modern and technologically advanced experience. It features a 15,6-inch rotating central screen, a 10,25-inch instrument cluster, and a 26-inch head-up display, all powered by the BYD UI 7.0 user interface. The vehicle also includes a column-mounted electronic gear selector and 3D ambient interior lighting.

Comfort is a key focus, with the front seats offering ventilation, heating, and a 10-point massage function. The driver's seat is 8-way power adjustable, while the passenger seat adds further adjustments and a leg rest. Both front and rear seats can fold flat, creating a continuous surface approximately 1,8 m long. The rear seats also feature a 40/60 split-fold for versatile cargo configurations.

Storage options are generous, including a 150-liter front trunk and a 730-liter rear trunk that expands to 1,659 liters when the rear seats are folded. An integrated cooling and heating box operates within a temperature range of -6 degrees C to 50 degrees C.

Powering the Song Ultra EV is a rear-wheel-drive system with one electric motor, available in two output options: 321 hp or 362 hp. Both configurations deliver 305 Nm of torque and achieve a top speed of 210 km/h.
All versions are equipped with the BYD Short Blade Battery 2.0, also known as the second-generation Blade battery. Battery capacities are 68,4 kWh and 82,7 kWh, providing CLTC ranges of 620 km and 710 km respectively. The vehicle boasts impressive charging times: 10%-70% in 5 minutes, and 10%-97% in just 9 minutes. Even in cold conditions, such as -30 degrees C, the charging time only increases by about 3 minutes.
Standard features across all versions include the DiSus-C intelligent damping system and a suspension setup with McPherson struts at the front and a 5-link configuration at the rear. Safety is enhanced with seven airbags.
For advanced driver assistance, an optional DiPilot 300 system is available. This system incorporates LiDAR and 27 sensors, enabling features such as city navigation, highway navigation, and automatic parking.
