The dashcam-equipped car was traveling in lane three, adjacent to the emergency lane on the expressway. A trailing SUV appeared to want to overtake, repeatedly swerving left and right. The Everest then overtook from the emergency lane, returned to lane three, and braked sharply, stopping completely in front of the dashcam car. Fortunately, the driver managed to brake in time, avoiding a collision. The SUV driver then continued driving.

Drivers must remain calm and obey traffic laws in all situations. Aggressive driving, such as competing for space, endangers oneself and other road users, especially on high-speed expressways designated for cars. Drivers who wish to travel faster should use lane one (the leftmost lane) next to the median, rather than attempting to overtake vehicles in lanes two or three. The driver in this incident also violated regulations by using the emergency lane.

When noticing vehicles behind or beside showing signs of reckless driving or cutting in, drivers should proactively maintain an appropriate speed, widen their distance, and avoid blind spots or sudden braking situations. In cases of aggressive drivers cutting in or pressuring others, drivers should save dashcam footage and report the incident to the police for appropriate action. According to Decree 168/2024 on road traffic penalties, stopping or parking a car on an expressway improperly, leading to a traffic accident, incurs a fine of 20-22 million dong and a deduction of 10 points from the driver's license.

In a similar incident on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, a white SUV repeatedly changed lanes and braked suddenly, causing a multi-vehicle collision on 15/9.
