Car swerves into emergency lane, gets hit by truck

As other drivers patiently queued and moved slowly in main lanes, a Tesla driver recklessly attempted to bypass traffic using the emergency lane.

The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on 19/6 on a highway exiting Beijing. During rush hour, with two rows of cars queuing in the main lanes, an accident unfolded.

Dashcam footage clearly shows the Tesla, initially traveling in the lane next to the median, abruptly changing lanes. It crossed two solid lines and swerved into the emergency lane. Immediately after entering the emergency lane, a large truck approached from behind and collided directly with the Tesla.

The high-speed impact caused the truck to push the Tesla a considerable distance, leading to a collision with a series of cars ahead. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

Traffic police promptly arrived after receiving reports and cordoned off the affected section of the highway. The accident blocked the emergency lane and part of a main lane, causing extended traffic congestion.

A driver waiting in the queue commented that many motorists, not just the Tesla driver, intentionally use emergency lanes to gain an advantage, fully aware they are breaking the law.

Many expressed outrage after witnessing the incident, as the purpose of emergency lanes is widely understood. Some observers commented that this was a classic case of trying to cut corners and ending up worse off.
