To celebrate the newest model in its Ultimate Car Concept series, Lego collaborated with Koenigsegg to construct a life-sized, drivable Sadair's Spear. This impressive creation then took on Goodwood’s famous hill climb track in England, where it achieved a speed of 69 mph (111 km/h). This remarkable feat more than doubled the previous speed record for a large drivable Lego Technic vehicle, which stood at 31 mph (50 km/h), establishing a new category for Lego vehicle speed records at Goodwood.
The project coincided with the launch of the 1:8 scale Lego Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar set, the 6th product in the Ultimate Car Concept series. Rather than simply unveiling the set, Lego and Koenigsegg opted to bring a full-scale version to life. Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh, who also set a Goodwood hill climb record in 2025 with the actual Sadair’s Spear, was behind the wheel.
The statistics behind this extraordinary build are as impressive as its performance. Lego reports that the Sadair’s Spear is composed of 327,906 individual pieces and weighs approximately 1,800 kg. Its development and construction demanded over 9,400 hours of dedicated work.

The team’s dedication extended beyond achieving a perfect exterior. The car incorporates a unique ghost mode, allowing simultaneous opening of body panels, rotation of the brand's signature dihedral synchro-helix doors, and folding of rearview mirrors with a single action.
The 1:8 scale Lego Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar model will be available for purchase starting 1/7, with a retail price of 449.99 USD in the US.
