Two men on a motorbike, neither wearing a helmet, illegally entered the Thang Long Boulevard expressway, a road designated solely for cars. Weaving through multiple vehicles, they narrowly avoided one truck before colliding with the rear of another. The impact sent both individuals tumbling onto the road. Their condition and the extent of any injuries are currently unknown.
Motorcyclists are strictly prohibited from entering expressways, which are reserved for high-speed car traffic. Such unauthorized entry poses severe risks to motorcyclists themselves and compromises the safety of other drivers on the road.
Furthermore, wearing a helmet is mandatory for motorcyclists, serving as the final protective measure for the head in the event of a collision. Decree 168/2024 stipulates severe penalties for violations: motorcyclists caught on restricted roads face fines of 4-6 million VND and a deduction of 6 points from their driving license. Additionally, not wearing a helmet incurs a fine of 600,000-800,000 VND.
