DPEC inaugurates plastic recycling plant in Ninh Binh

Located in Dong Van I Industrial Park, the DPEC plant specializes in producing high-quality recycled plastic pellets and composite materials, contributing to the circular economy.

The inauguration ceremony for the DPEC plastic recycling plant took place on 31/7 in Dong Van I Industrial Park, Ninh Binh. Company leaders and delegates cut the ribbon and toured the production line. This event strengthened cooperation between Phu Thai Group, PTC Holdings, and technology partners Dowon and Dux Industry from Korea. The plant's operation will contribute to Vietnam's recycling industry, supporting green growth targets, emission reduction, and the implementation of extended producer responsibility (EPR) policies.

Construction began in 10/2025. DPEC's plant has a total phase one investment of USD 6.2 million and currently features 12 completed structures spanning approximately 8,000 m2. These include: warehouse one operations area, warehouse one, warehouse two, production workshop, auxiliary building, worker changing rooms, parking area, guardhouse combined with pump house, hazardous and general industrial waste treatment facility, domestic waste area, power station, and worker restrooms.

Phase two is planned for 2027, increasing the total investment to USD 13 million and adding other significant facilities. The management stated that the project targets a capacity of 20,000 tons/year in phase one and over 50,000 tons/year in phase two. This establishes a foundation for domestic recycled plastic production to serve both local and export markets.

Aiming to become a modern recycling facility in Vietnam, DPEC focuses on two main product groups: high-quality recycled plastic pellets (converting used plastic products into valuable raw materials for manufacturing) and new composite materials (developing new, sustainable, and environmentally friendly materials).

Speaking at the ceremony, Kang Jung Hun, CEO of DPEC, stated that the inauguration is a significant milestone, marking the official commencement of production at the Dong Van I Industrial Park plant in Ninh Binh. This realizes commitments made since groundbreaking and continues to create sustainable value for customers and partners.

Following him, Kim Seong Bae, Chairman of Dowon, noted that DPEC exemplifies successful cooperation between Vietnam and Korea, aiming for technological development, green production, and sustainable growth with the community. Echoing this sentiment, Pham Dinh Doan, Chairman of Phu Thai Group's Board of Directors, emphasized that the plant will operate based on circular economy principles, applying high technology to produce quality recycled products and contributing to Vietnam's sustainable development.

Dowon specializes in building plastic resource circular systems, with extensive experience implementing ESG-compliant circular economy models in Korea. Meanwhile, PTC Holdings and Phu Thai Group aim to establish a leading heavy industry and environmental ecosystem in Vietnam.
