FedEx Corporation has announced the launch of its FedEx SameDay Local service, designed to meet the growing consumer demand for speed, flexibility, and control over deliveries.
In collaboration with OneRail, a last-mile delivery solution provider, the service allows customers to choose delivery within two hours or by day's end directly at checkout.

FedEx SameDay Local connects customers with a nationwide network of over one thousand intelligently coordinated delivery service providers. The system automatically matches orders with the appropriate vehicle and driver, providing real-time tracking from pickup to delivery.
The service supports predefined delivery windows, offers near real-time tracking with estimated time of arrival (ETA) forecasts, and provides order completion confirmations. Additionally, FedEx stated that the platform features flexible API integration, combining AI-driven dispatch rules to optimize partner selection, routes, and delivery performance. The service also includes 24/7 support, proactive monitoring to minimize disruptions, and the capability to handle large, bulky, or specialized orders.
Jason Brenner, Senior Vice President, Digital Portfolio at FedEx, noted that this new solution helps customers enhance service value through speed and convenience, while offering delivery options without increasing operational complexity.
