Heineken Vietnam's leadership shared this information at the Vietnam Economic Forum 2025, Outlook 2026 (VEPF), co-chaired by the Central Policy and Strategy Board and the government, with the participation of leaders from ministries, agencies, and businesses. A representative from Heineken Vietnam's leadership stated, "We consistently place sustainable development at the core of all our production and business activities," affirming the company's long-term commitment to Vietnam and sharing its sustainable development strategy, as well as proposing contributions to boost investment and green transition.
With five factories and nearly 3,000 employees nationwide, the company creates over 170,000 jobs across its entire value chain. In 2024, the business contributed the equivalent of 0.5% of national GDP and accounted for 1.7% of total national budget revenue. The company also supports the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam by spending nearly 20 trillion VND on domestic procurement.

The company pioneers multilateral cooperation and invests in technological innovation in production to promote sustainable transition. For example, the "Water Conservation Project", a collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and WWF-Vietnam, aims to replenish water and improve access to clean water for people in river basins nationwide, especially in water-stressed areas. In 2025, the company will realize its ambition to replenish water in the Tien river basin five years ahead of schedule.
Specifically, Heineken Vietnam currently returns over 690 million liters of water to the local environment each year – exceeding the total volume of water used in its products and the water evaporated during production at the Tien Giang brewery. This achievement results from various local water conservation initiatives. Nearly 560 million liters of this water come from initiatives within the framework of the water conservation cooperation program between Heineken Vietnam, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, WWF-Vietnam, and the Dong Thap Muoi ecological reserve.
The company continues to implement water projects in the Red river basin and Dong Nai river basin, contributing to the goal of sustainable water security.
At the VEPF, James Crampton, senior director of corporate affairs at Heineken Vietnam, affirmed, "Heineken Vietnam is committed to continuing investment, innovation, and contribution to Vietnam's sustainable development. We are ready to cooperate closely with the government, ministries, and business associations to transform these policy directions into practical solutions, supporting double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period."

He also shared the circular economy practices applied at the company's breweries. These factories use advanced wastewater treatment technology, treating water to meet Class A standards. However, James Crampton noted that without clear regulations and guidelines to permit and encourage safe wastewater reuse, both businesses and Vietnam will not fully leverage the benefits of these investments or promote the circularity of this valuable resource. With clear regulations and standards, Vietnam can improve industrial water efficiency, reduce pressure on water resources, and foster sustainable growth.
The senior director of corporate affairs at Heineken Vietnam also suggested directions to enable businesses to contribute more effectively to Vietnam's rapid and sustainable development goals, thereby strengthening Vietnam's position as an attractive investment destination and enhancing its role in the global value chain. Key among these is building a stable, transparent, and predictable investment environment and policy framework, harmonized with international practices, based on full consultation with industry associations and the business community. This will strengthen investor confidence for long-term investment decisions.

With over three decades of operation, Heineken Vietnam continuously expands cooperation with regulatory agencies, partners, and the community to implement initiatives based on transparency, integrity, and long-term partnership. On the social front, the company has recently focused on supporting local communities. Following recent natural disasters in the northern and central regions, the company collaborated with local authorities to deliver essential supply packages directly to thousands of households, helping them stabilize their lives. Concurrently, the company continues to promote a culture of responsible consumption within the community. The year 2025 marks 14 years of Heineken Vietnam partnering with the National Traffic Safety Committee to spread the message "If you drink, don't drive". The company also cooperates with the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police and other relevant parties in various activities, contributing to building a civilized and safe traffic culture.
The company recently received the "CSI Star" award in 2025 from the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD - VCCI). This award honors businesses with outstanding, transparent, and consistent contributions to sustainable development activities, from governance strategies and social responsibility to environmental protection and community development. The award marks eight consecutive years Heineken Vietnam has been among the top 10 most sustainable businesses in Vietnam, consistently contributing to sustainable development for a better Vietnam.
