Regulations for training and testing vehicles, effective from early 2025, require many driving schools and individual instructors to upgrade or replace old vehicles. With increasing investment and operating costs for driving schools, Phung Chi Thanh, Director of Tay Do Motor Vehicle Driver Training and Testing Center, stated that the economic solution lies in optimizing the total cost of vehicle ownership over its lifespan, rather than solely focusing on the initial purchase price.

According to Thanh, vehicles used for training and testing must meet technical regulations and have carefully calculated daily operating and maintenance costs. On average, each vehicle serves 30 to 40 students daily, repeatedly performing high-frequency actions like clutch release, gear shifting, braking, and steering. "Even a minor technical issue can disrupt training schedules, directly impacting student test results and the reputation of the training institution," Thanh said. "Investors, both institutions and individuals, increasingly prioritize vehicles that offer stable, durable operation and easy maintenance to ensure continuous operational efficiency and long-term cost control."

At Tay Do Motor Vehicle Driver Training and Testing Center, these criteria are considered key factors when selecting training vehicles. The center currently uses Isuzu Q-Series vehicles for its C1 license training program. The management board notes that the stable operation and minimal breakdowns of these vehicles help the center proactively manage training schedules and control long-term costs.
Isuzu Vietnam's product portfolio is designed to meet training and testing needs, including the Q-Series (QMR) and F-Series (FRR) models. The company states that both vehicle lines meet the new requirements for payload capacity, technical standards, and current emission regulations. The QMR series is suitable for C1 license training and testing, while the FRR series meets the requirements for a C license.
Isuzu Vietnam is currently collaborating with its nationwide dealer network to implement a support program for those looking to invest in training and testing vehicles. The company developed this policy to reduce initial investment costs, helping businesses and individuals establish a stable operational foundation. The company indicates that the level of support will depend on the specific vehicle model and quantity.

For individual customers, those investing in vehicles for training, testing, or co-operating with driving schools, Isuzu Vietnam has updated its support policy, expanding eligibility for those interested in purchasing these vehicle models, from 1/1 to 31/3. "By continuing to maintain and expand our support programs, Isuzu Vietnam aims to be a reliable partner, helping centers and individuals focus on training quality, optimizing operational efficiency, and achieving long-term sustainable development," a company representative stated.
