The 28th International Pig Veterinary Society Congress (IPVS 2026) took place from 16-19/6 in TP HCM, gathering over 3,000 experts, veterinarians, businesses, and organizations from the global pig farming sector. This marked the first time the event was hosted in Vietnam, with Nong Lam University, TP HCM as the main organizer.
As a diamond sponsor of the event, Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam provided expert information through its symposium, "Integrated Control in a Complex Disease Landscape". The symposium focused on the role of whole-herd health management in controlling PCV2 (porcine circovirus type 2-related disease) to maintain production stability. It also analyzed the link between PRRS (porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome) and other health issues in pigs, emphasizing the need to view diseases within a holistic system and implement solutions for more effective herd health management.
Experts presented these solutions as the pig farming industry faces increasingly complex changes from various pathogens. Protecting herd health now requires a more comprehensive approach, combining science, data, and proactive preventive solutions, rather than just controlling individual diseases.

By connecting scientific research perspectives with practical experience, the information shared at the event helped veterinarians, farmers, and businesses develop strategies suited to production conditions in Vietnam, fostering more sustainable pig farming.
Doan Dung Song, a representative from Darby-Hanpork Company, attended the event and stated it was an opportunity for pig farmers to exchange, learn, and share practical experiences and scientific-technical achievements. The knowledge gained from the symposium will help farms improve production efficiency, enhance disease control capabilities, and gradually integrate with modern development trends in the global livestock industry.
In addition to expert sharing activities, Boehringer Ingelheim also presented an interactive exhibition space at IPVS 2026, attracting hundreds of visitors. Guests had the opportunity to experience the field of animal health, learn about modern herd health management technology, and receive various gifts.

"This figure demonstrates the trust that the farming community, veterinarians, and industry businesses have placed in our PCV2 prevention solution over the past two decades", a brand representative stated.
Additionally, Boehringer Ingelheim showcased the application of scientific advancements in farming solutions, exploring a five-step approach to PRRS control, seizing new growth opportunities with the Enterisol Ileitis gut health management solution, and entering an interactive VR world with FreVAX.
