Prudential Vietnam has clarified its brand identity, emphasizing its affiliation with Prudential plc Group and its independence from Prudential Life Insurance Japan, a company currently facing consumer complaints.
According to the Japan Times, Prudential Life Insurance Japan recently announced a 9-month suspension of new sales activities. This followed approximately 700 complaints regarding employees misappropriating customer funds.
Prudential Life Insurance Japan is a subsidiary of Prudential Financial, Inc., headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, in the United States. This entity has no affiliation with Prudential plc, the parent group of Prudential Vietnam.
Prudential plc is a global group offering life insurance, health insurance, and asset management solutions. It operates across 20 markets in Asia and Africa and is listed on the Hong Kong, London, Singapore, and New York stock exchanges. The group adheres to high standards of governance, transparency, and legal compliance in each market where it operates.
Prudential Vietnam noted that some content inaccurately using the "Prudential" name, images, or logos has led to misunderstandings about the connection between independent organizations.
A company representative stressed that Prudential plc operates entirely independently from other organizations, even those sharing "Prudential" in their brand name. Examples include Prudential Financial, Inc. in the United States, and Prudential Assurance Company in the United Kingdom.
"We recommend customers and the public access information from official sources to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings", a Prudential plc representative stated.
