On 21/9, during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang, Linh Austin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of R3 Lithium, noted Vietnam's strong progress in transportation electrification, evidenced by the rising number of electric vehicles.

According to Austin, R3 Lithium is keen on collaborating with Vietnamese partners in the green transition, particularly in battery technology, recycling, and essential mineral processing. The company's goal is to establish a supply chain, working towards building an ecosystem for recycling and reusing batteries and essential minerals in Vietnam.

Austin also commended the capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises and the government's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang highlighted that Vietnam's market of over 100 million people, combined with the demand for transportation transition, creates substantial opportunities for projects involving batteries and new materials.

Vietnam prioritizes attracting projects focused on deep processing, modern technology application, and environmental protection. The government also aims to increase its integration into the global technology supply chain, facilitating investment and business for foreign enterprises, including those from the US.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that Vietnam seeks to attract more capital, fostering co-creative partnerships. Accordingly, investment projects must integrate research and development, technology transfer, high-quality human resource training, enhanced capacity for domestic enterprises, and global value products.

He urged R3 Lithium to continue exploring cooperation opportunities, thereby contributing to the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
