Electric motorcycles have gained popularity in Vietnam in recent years. However, battery life and long-distance performance remain barriers for manufacturers to win user trust. Dat Bike notes that some of its vehicles, particularly those used by ride-hailing drivers or individuals with high travel demands, have covered 80,000 to 100,000 km and continue to operate stably. Tran Quang Anh Khoa, a freelancer in Ho Chi Minh City, shared his initial concerns before purchasing an electric motorcycle, questioning its power and resistance to rain. He has since ridden his first-generation Dat Bike Quantum S for about 50,000 km, primarily for personal travel.

"The bike runs smoothly and accelerates well; I use it daily and find it suitable for my personal needs," Khoa stated, adding that using an electric motorcycle offers a different experience compared to gasoline motorcycles in urban areas. He noted that for longer journeys, the actual travel distance after each full charge depends on speed, load, and road conditions. "When using the bike for long trips, if I plan my itinerary accordingly, the vehicle can still meet the demand," Tran Quang Anh Khoa explained.
Tran Van Moi, a ride-hailing driver in TP HCM, approaches the Dat Bike electric motorcycle from a different perspective, using it for his daily work. According to Moi, the electric vehicle allows him to be more proactive in calculating operating costs, avoiding the need to pay for fuel and frequent maintenance associated with his old gasoline motorcycle. The ride-hailing driver mentioned that a fully charged electric motorcycle can meet the demands of a workday, depending on travel distance, schedule, and actual conditions. "The vehicle operates smoothly, with minimal vibration, and has convenient urban driving features like reverse assist and hill hold," Tran Van Moi said. "I ride the electric motorcycle almost all day, so I save a significant amount compared to the costs of a gasoline motorcycle previously."
Beyond daily use, both users confirmed that they regularly inspect and maintain their motorcycles according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Maintenance primarily involves basic items such as battery checks, brakes, and safety-related components. Tran Quang Anh Khoa's vehicle required tire and brake replacement. Tran Van Moi proactively takes his vehicle for inspection when necessary.
A Dat Bike representative stated that the company's electric motorcycle models are designed for high-intensity use, catering to both individual users and ride-hailing drivers.
