He emphasized that ESG is not just a corporate responsibility but also a driver for creating long-term value for customers, the community, and stakeholders.
A key initiative for the airline this year is the launch of the "Green Alliance - Sustainable Development", connecting domestic and international partners. This alliance aims to promote environmental, social, and governance initiatives in line with international ESG standards. It seeks to share experiences, expand cooperation, and foster green development solutions within the aviation industry.
In the environmental sector, Vietnam Airlines is among the enterprises driving emission reduction in Vietnam's aviation industry. The enterprise has also expanded the application of biometrics, VNeID, and paperless processes in passenger services. The airline states that accelerating digital transformation helps shorten check-in times, enhance customer experience, and reduce paper usage in operations.
Under its development strategy until 2030, Vietnam Airlines will continue to refine its ESG indicators, enhance technology application in governance and operations, and work towards a net-zero emissions target by 2050, aligning with Vietnam's commitment at COP26.
