The announcement was made on 19/11/2024. Specifically, the school will use four combinations: C01 (literature, math, physics), C03 (literature, math, history), C04 (literature, math, geography), and D01 (literature, math, English). Compared to last year, the school added the C01 combination and removed A00 and C00.

Si quan Chinh tri School explained that the change in combinations is to comply with current admission regulations. The Bo Giao duc va Dao tao requires admission combinations to include at least three subjects, with math or literature being mandatory and accounting for no less than 25% of the admission score. From 2026, common subjects in all combinations must contribute at least 50% of the weighted score.

The four proposed combinations by the school use math and literature as foundational subjects, meeting these criteria. These two subjects are mandatory in the national high school graduation exam, ensuring 100% of candidates will take them. The third subject is physics, history, geography, or English.

"This is the optimal approach to ensure the rights and diverse choices for candidates in traditional combinations (A00, C00), while also aligning with our training programs and ensuring successful admissions for the school," the institution stated.

Previously, another military school, Hoc vien Bien phong, also announced adjustments to its admission combinations for similar reasons. This school stopped using C00 and A01 (math, physics, English), and will only use three combinations: C03, C04, and D01.

Both schools have yet to announce their specific admission plans.

For 2025, Si quan Chinh tri School plans to admit 766 students through three methods: direct admission and priority admission for national and international award winners; based on competency assessment scores from two national universities; and based on national high school graduation exam scores. This represents the largest quota among the 20 military schools offering university and college-level admissions.

The admission scores for Si quan Chinh tri School, based on the 2025 national high school graduation exam, ranged from 26,82 to 27,83 out of 30. Last year, the school did not admit female candidates.
