At the "Effective AI Applications in Classroom Management" seminar on 28/11, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong announced that the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) plans to pilot artificial intelligence (AI) integration into general education programs starting late this year.
The AI education content for students is developed based on four main knowledge areas: human-centered thinking, AI ethics, AI techniques and applications, and AI system design. This knowledge will be differentiated according to age and psychological development across two stages: basic education (primary and junior high school) and career orientation (senior high school).
For teachers, AI will be piloted in management, to support lesson preparation, and to innovate assessment methods.
Mr. Thuong stated that a key priority is protecting student and teacher data, adhering to ethical and safety standards when using AI. Therefore, he believes it is essential to develop tools to safeguard students according to their different levels and ages, ensuring safe access to AI.

Le Thi Hai Thanh, Director of the Khan Academy Vietnam Program, advised students and teachers to exercise caution before providing personal data to AI in general. This includes identifying information like name, age, date of birth, as well as preferences, distinguishing features, and relationships.
Consequently, Khanmigo, Khan Academy's free AI teaching assistant for teachers, only requires email registration and does not demand identity verification. Teachers and students will use shared school accounts.
Experts and educators agree that AI will become a valuable support tool in education, making the teaching and learning process more creative and efficient. Therefore, the education sector advocates for students to access AI early under the guidance and orientation of teachers, rather than prohibiting it.
Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Administrators, stated that the ministry will issue regulations on ethical AI use. These regulations will include guidelines for limiting personal information sharing and minimizing data leakage on various platforms.

Politburo's Resolution 71 on breakthroughs in education and training addresses the task of comprehensive digital transformation, promoting widespread application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in managing and organizing educational activities at all levels.
Experts consider the introduction of AI at the primary school level necessary, but it must be implemented with a suitable, cautious, and safe roadmap.
