Candidates can look up their scores on the city's first-level admissions portal by entering their student code or candidate number. The system will display the exam scores and the pass/fail results for their preferences. Additionally, the scores are available on the official website of the Department of Education and Training and the Hanoi Moi newspaper.
The admission score for non-specialized 10th grade classes is the sum of the literature, mathematics, and foreign language scores, without any coefficient, with a maximum of 30 points. For specialized schools, the admission score is the sum of the ba general subjects plus the specialized subject score, which is multiplied by a coefficient of 2.
10th grade online and direct enrollment guide
Hanoi's 10th grade admission preference consideration principles are as follows:
- Students who qualify for preference mot will not be considered for preferences hai and ba.
- If a candidate fails preference mot, they will successively be considered for the next two preferences, provided their score is at least 0,5 and 1 point higher than the cutoff score for preference mot of that school. These two difference thresholds have decreased by 0,5 compared to previous years.
All preferences are considered simultaneously until all eligible candidates are processed, rather than prioritizing preference mot and only moving to preferences hai and ba if there are remaining slots.
The Department stated that it will accept appeal applications from candidates until 25/6. Candidates will know their results by 9/7 at the latest.
Admitted students will complete online or direct enrollment procedures from 25/6 to 27/6. Schools that have not met their quotas will meet to approve supplementary cutoff scores on 3/7.
In 2026, Hanoi has approximately 147,000 secondary school graduates, with over 124,000 students registering for the public 10th grade exam, a record high. With a target quota of approximately 82,660, the pass rate among test-takers is 66%.
