Alexandra Smith, UK Consul General in TP HCM, highlighted the strong capability of Vietnamese students to compete in global academic environments. This scholarship program, a joint effort with Sedbergh Vietnam, underscores a commitment to investing in Vietnam's youth. It provides an opportunity for students to access a UK-standard education locally before embarking on future overseas study journeys.
Dr. Nguyen Quang Minh, Academic Director of Sedbergh Vietnam, stated that this is a particularly prestigious scholarship due to its substantial value and direct recognition from the UK Consul General. This recognition adds significant credibility to students' profiles when preparing for overseas study and applying for visas.

These scholarships are highly regarded for their diplomatic cooperation, which significantly enhances students' study abroad applications. According to a Sedbergh Vietnam representative, "validation through a selection process involving the UK Consul General is a significant advantage for university admissions and Tier 4 visa applications".
Sedbergh Vietnam will award 10 full scholarships, covering the entire study duration, to students demonstrating outstanding academic or athletic achievements. The selection process is transparent, based on academic records from the past two years, combined with direct interviews conducted to international standards. Applications for the program are open until 15/1/2026, and it is expected to attract parents who envision a long-term international education path for their children.
In addition to the 10 full scholarships, the program extends opportunities to students who do not qualify for the top award. Based on interview results, Sedbergh Vietnam will grant Talent Search Scholarships, offering 60-80% tuition support. This initiative aims to ensure that more talented students can access a UK-standard education without being limited by financial conditions.
Successful applicants will receive personalized counseling to help determine their future direction and choose from the school's available academic pathways. These include: bilingual programs, Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), A Level (Advanced Level General Certificate of Education), and the NCUK International Foundation Year program.
