The song was composed by musician Ba Quoc Vinh specifically for Siu Black. The singer shared that upon hearing the demo, she resonated with the lyrics, as they accurately reflected her life's many ups and downs: "Waking up from a daze, we learn to live slowly / The hand that once held tight, letting go, there's nothing left." The mountain nightingale considers the work a musical gift, expressing gratitude to those who have always supported her through various adversities.
"Through each lyric, I want to tell the true story of the experiences that have made me stronger after everything," the singer stated.

During the recording, Phuong Thanh provided backing vocals for Siu Black. Phuong Thanh noted that due to continuous dialysis, Siu Black's voice is not as strong as it once was.
Early this year, the singer in her 60s canceled a performance in Da Lat, Lam Dong, due to health issues. The mountain nightingale mentioned that her physical condition is recovering well. However, she must undergo dialysis twice a week as prescribed by doctors. Despite fluctuating health, she continues to perform and meet audiences. "Only when I am on stage do I feel my life is complete," the singer said.
In late 10/2025, Siu Black was hospitalized due to illness. At that time, Doctor Bui Truong Giang, Deputy Director of Professional Affairs and Head of the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department at Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital, where the singer received treatment, stated that she was admitted with signs of respiratory failure, multi-membrane effusion, heart failure, and ischemic anemia. Additionally, the singer has underlying conditions such as chronic kidney failure and diabetes.
In 2013, she was embroiled in a debt scandal amounting to billions of VND, and once performed while creditors surrounded the stage. Due to her debts, after working in TP HCM, Siu Black returned to her hometown. Besides singing, she now farms coffee and raises livestock to support herself.
Siu Black, a Ba Na ethnic, rose through community singing activities, pursuing the rock genre, and is known for her passionate performance style. The singer has released albums such as: Ru ta ngam ngui (2000), Mat troi trong Siu (2007), and K'Bing oi (2011). She has also served as a judge on music competitions including: Vietnam Idol, The Winner Is, and Rock Viet. She appeared in films like: Huyen thoai bat tu, Giot dang, Doc suong mu, Cau vong sau mua, and Giai cuu than chet.
In 2012, the singer held a liveshow titled Siu Black - Khat khao moi hong, celebrating 20 years in her singing career.
She was once married to volleyball player Nguyen Duc Hung, divorcing in 2009. Afterward, the singer became a single mother. Her ex-husband remarried but later divorced. The two reunited in 2019 and held a church wedding in their hometown in 9/2023. They have two sons: Nguyen Siu Manh and Nguyen Siu Hieu.
