Released on 16/7, the trailer depicts Hawkins in the fall of 1987, picking up after the events of season four. The town is in ruins, scarred by interdimensional fissures left by the battle with Vecna, whom Eleven sent hurtling into the Upside Down. However, Vecna has vanished without a trace, his whereabouts and plans unknown.
The situation intensifies as the government imposes a town-wide military quarantine and expands its search for Eleven. The friends must locate and defeat the most dangerous enemy they have ever faced.
Alongside the decisive battle, the final season promises to unveil mysteries surrounding the Upside Down. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer initially drafted a 25-page document outlining the complete structure of this alternate dimension. While some of this information has been revealed in previous seasons, the rest, held back until now, is expected to significantly impact the storyline.
The familiar cast returns, including Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers). New faces joining the final season include Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler) and Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbrow).

Debuting in 2016, Stranger Things quickly became a global phenomenon and one of Netflix's flagship series. Critically acclaimed for its character development, atmosphere, acting, direction, script, and homage to 1980s cinema, the series has garnered numerous awards, including Golden Globes, Emmys, and SAG Awards. According to Symphony, the show averaged 14.07 million viewers aged 18 to 49 in the US during its first 35 days of release.
Producers have confirmed that the main storyline will conclude with season five, but spin-off series are planned. While details remain scarce, the spin-offs are not expected to focus on central characters Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) or Steve Harrington (Joe Keery).
