Over 1,000 healthcare professionals attend scientific conference in Can Tho

Domestic and international experts and speakers discuss solutions to improve healthcare quality, safety, and operational capacity at "ACP 2026".

The "Phuong Chau Healthcare Group Annual Scientific Conference 2026" (ACP 2026), themed "Building a Comprehensive Healthcare Model in the New Era", was held on 18/9 in Can Tho. The event attracted over 1,000 guests and over 44 speakers from domestic and international healthcare groups and systems.

In her opening speech, Nguyen Ngoc Anh Phuong, Vice General Director of Phuong Chau Healthcare Group, noted that for decades, medicine focused on "How do we treat diseases?". However, current demands extend beyond achieving good professional outcomes to ensuring these results are maintained safely, consistently, and reliably across the entire healthcare system. This is also the core focus of "ACP 2026".

Phuong emphasized that treatment outcomes should not rely on luck, exceptional individuals, or opportune timing. Instead, they must be safely, consistently, and reliably produced by the entire system. According to her, expertise builds treatment capacity; quality and safety ensure this capacity is consistently delivered; operations and people implement standards. Patient experience helps the system understand the patient's journey, while data highlights areas for improvement. When these elements operate synchronously, healthcare facilities can move towards a "centers of excellence" model.

During the discussion sessions, experts focused on sharing experiences to improve care quality, from clinical practice to system organization and operations. In the Obstetrics – Pediatrics – Neonatology – IVF and Gynecology – General Medicine groups, reports updated advancements in high-risk pregnancy care, neonatology, women's health, and the treatment of specialized conditions. They also addressed standardizing treatment pathways and developing specialized centers.

Beyond expertise, the conference discussed quality, safety, human resources, and patient experience. Experts shared insights on building a culture of continuous improvement, quality management, and operations, illustrating how effective care depends on the coordination of multiple departments within the system.

From a technological perspective, speakers addressed the role of HIS, EMR, CRM, and data in connecting professional activities with administration. The application of technology is expected to support quality monitoring, optimize resources, and enhance healthcare operational efficiency.

The "Phuong Chau Healthcare Group Annual Scientific Conference" (ACP) serves as a forum for professional exchange, evidence updates, and sharing practical experience among healthcare experts, doctors, and managers. This year, the event drew interest from international experts from Singapore, Philippines, and Indonesia, alongside experts, managers, and colleagues from many domestic hospitals, universities, and healthcare facilities.

"By updating international standards and translating them into practice, 'ACP 2026' aims to expand connections between domestic and international healthcare systems, contributing to improving the quality and competitiveness of Vietnamese healthcare", Phuong stated.
