Sodermix Extra topical cream formula transfer, production in Vietnam

Dermocosmetics LSI Silderma Ltd (UK) has transferred the formula and production process of Sodermix Extra to Vietnam, simultaneously enhancing the topical cream's ingredients and volume.

Wecan Dermocosmetics Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) has officially received the formula from LSI Silderma Ltd, the brand owner of Sodermix Extra. Production is now handled by Thai Minh Hi-Tech factory, a subsidiary of Thai Minh High-Tech Joint Stock Company, also located in Hanoi.

A representative from Wecan, part of Thai Minh Group, explained that the decision to produce Sodermix Extra topical cream in Vietnam, rather than continuing imports from Alpol Cosmetics in France, represents a strategic move. This shift is not merely a logistical adjustment; it proactively secures the domestic supply chain and shortens the time it takes for the product to reach Vietnamese consumers.

A key challenge was maintaining the quality established by founder Christian Diehl over two decades, while also enhancing its effectiveness to suit the physiology of Vietnamese users, especially when transitioning to a new production line.

To ensure seamless integration, senior leaders from LSI Silderma Ltd directly participated in the production process, rather than relying on remote or document-based transfers. Professor Christian Diehl, the founder of the Sodermix brand and researcher of the SOD enzyme formula extracted from green tomatoes, traveled from the UK to Vietnam. He personally supervised every stage of production, from raw material input and formulation procedures to machinery operation standards.

After a thorough review of all processes, Professor Christian Diehl confirmed that Thai Minh Hi-Tech is well-equipped to implement the stringent formulation techniques required for Sodermix Extra. The facility boasts significant investments in technology, machinery, and medical equipment, all meeting ISO 13485 standards.

"The machinery and techniques at the factory ensure quality equivalent to the international standards we have pursued for two decades. As a result, even with production at a new location, Sodermix Extra retains the essence of the original brand", said Christian Diehl.

The Sodermix Extra version produced in Vietnam features several improvements over the original, offering a more comprehensive approach to atopic dermatitis. While the core SOD enzyme, a key component of Sodermix, remains unchanged and is directly imported from France, ensuring consistency with Professor Christian Diehl's original formula, new ingredients have been added.

The updated formula incorporates a complex of ferulic acid and resveratrol, extracted from plants like rice bran and Japanese knotweed root, and formulated using niosome technology. This complex helps reduce cytokines and soothe inflammatory reactions. Additionally, a moisturizing duo of shea butter and hydrolyzed jojoba oil has been included to soften dry, flaky skin.

Beyond ingredient enhancements, the new version features an increased volume, growing from 15 g to 20 g, which extends its usage time. Furthermore, domestic production has led to a 30% price reduction compared to the previous version.

The manufacturer promotes the product based on "four noes" criteria: no corticoids, no parabens, no mineral oil, and no fragrances. This makes it suitable for sensitive skin with no reported side effects.

Available in Vietnam since 2018, Sodermix has been improved into Sodermix Extra after 8 years, featuring updated ingredients and volume. The medical device declaration number is 260000691/PCBA-HN. The product's uses include supporting skin surface issues such as inflammation, itching, redness, dryness, and flaking for conditions like atopic dermatitis, infantile eczema, eczema, dyshidrotic eczema, psoriasis, and radiation dermatitis. It also aids in reducing keloid and hypertrophic scars.

Thai Minh High-Tech Joint Stock Company (lot CN5, Thach That - Quoc Oai Industrial Park, Tay Phuong Commune, Hanoi) is responsible for production. Wecan Dermocosmetics Joint Stock Company (3rd-4th floor, B7/D6, alley 56 Truong Cong Giai Street, Cau Giay Ward, Hanoi) is the unit that brings the product to market.

Note: Do not use if sensitive or allergic to any ingredient in the product. Read the instructions carefully before use.
