Master Tran Van Doanh, Director of the Asia Business Development Research Center and a representative of the Organizing Committee, announced that this year's Vietnam - ASEAN Economic Cooperation Forum presented 60 awards to over 35 entities. These organizations spanned various fields, including hospitals, pharmaceuticals, healthcare services, education, banking, finance, information technology, and telecommunications. Participating businesses underwent a rigorous 5-month review process, submitting applications evaluated against international criteria. These standards included ASEAN industry-leading brand reputation, product and service quality, sustainable development strategy, regional economic contribution, social responsibility, and compliance with environmental, tax, and customs regulations.
Mr. Doanh elaborated on the criteria for the "Southeast Asia's leader in reproductive assistance" title. The Reproductive Assistance Center, part of the Tam Anh General Hospital system (IVF Tam Anh), was assessed by the council based on several key factors: professional quality, treatment success rates, technological innovation, customer experience and care, operational management, social impact, brand reputation, individualized treatment approaches, the expertise of its team, competitive costs, and the ability to handle complex cases.
"This title contributes to elevating Vietnam's medical standing, promoting professional expertise, expanding international cooperation, enhancing patient access to treatment, and fostering research and innovation, thereby helping to build the ASEAN regional medical brand," Mr. Doanh said.
IVF Tam Anh has developed a comprehensive treatment model within its high-tech general hospital. This model integrates a "three-pronged" approach focusing on male infertility, female infertility, and an ISO 5 standard embryo culture laboratory, combined with on-site genetic screening. This strategy effectively shortens treatment times, reduces costs, and significantly increases success rates. The center employs many modern techniques, including: piezo intracytoplasmic sperm injection (PIEZO ICSI), assisted hatching (AH), in vitro maturation (IVM), preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), micro-testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE) for azoospermic men, and embryonic-like stem cell injection (ELSI) for creating embryos from immature spermatids. These advanced methods support individualized treatment plans, enhancing the chances of healthy pregnancies and births. Patients receive continuous care, from initial infertility diagnosis through pregnancy and delivery.
"This is the advantage that helps IVF Tam Anh achieve its leading position in ASEAN," said Master, Doctor Giang Huynh Nhu, Director of IVF Tam Anh TP HCM.

Tam Anh Hospital's statistics for 2021-2025 reveal an average cumulative pregnancy rate of 82,8%. For women under 28 years old, this rate reached 90,3%. Even for complex infertility cases with previous treatment failures, the cumulative pregnancy rate was 72,3%. Annually, the system treats over 100.000 patients, including overseas Vietnamese and international clients from the US, France, Russia, the UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Laos. Many individuals with long-term, unexplained, or age-related infertility, or those with co-existing conditions who had previously failed treatment in their home countries, have successfully conceived at Tam Anh.
Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Quang Binh, Professional Director of Tam Anh General Hospital System TP HCM, noted that the combination of effective treatment and reasonable costs is a crucial factor in boosting Vietnam's competitiveness in reproductive assistance within Southeast Asia. According to Forbes magazine, the cost for an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle in Vietnam is approximately 4.000-5.000 USD, which is equivalent to one-third of the cost in other ASEAN countries. In contrast, an IVF cycle in the US costs over 30.000 USD.
"A domestic healthcare system leading the region in reproductive assistance demonstrates the capability to master specialized techniques, helping to reduce the need for overseas treatment," Associate Professor Binh said. The growth of high-quality IVF centers also promotes a high-tech medical ecosystem. This, in turn, attracts international patients, increases service revenue, and creates a positive ripple effect on related industries such as accommodation and transportation.

The Vietnam - ASEAN Economic Cooperation Forum is jointly organized annually by the Asia Business Development Research Center and international organizations, with the host country rotating among Southeast Asian nations. Beyond fostering exchange, cooperation, and investment connections to promote regional business development, the forum also collaborates to honor strong brands within the ASEAN bloc.
Previously, the IVF Tam Anh Reproductive Assistance Center achieved 5 consecutive years of quality certification from the Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC), an organization under the Fertility Society of Australia (FSA). The center also set a record as the first unit in Asia to develop an ISO 5 standard embryology lab system using a "lab-in-lab" model, applied in gamete manipulation and embryo culture.
