6-year-old's iPad snatched

Pham Hoang Thai, 27, was arrested after snatching an iPad valued at approximately 10 million VND from a 6-year-old boy playing outside his home in Pleiku ward.

Pham Hoang Thai, 27, was detained by Gia Lai Provincial Police on 18/10. He faces an investigation into property snatching.

Thai has a prior conviction for property snatching. He was under post-rehabilitation management and lived itinerantly without a stable residence after completing a prison sentence.

According to the investigation, yesterday afternoon, Thai walked along Tran Cao Van street in Pleiku ward. He spotted a 6-year-old boy playing outside his house with an iPad, valued at approximately 10 million VND. Thai snatched the device, intending to sell it to purchase drugs.

Alerted by residents' shouts, Pleiku Ward Police quickly coordinated to pursue and apprehend Thai, recovering the stolen iPad.
