At approximately 5:45 am on 15/10, the driver was operating a truck, traveling from the Tan Uyen area towards Thuan An, in what was formerly Binh Duong province. While making a right turn at the Vinh Loi - DT 747B intersection, heading towards the Kim Hang roundabout, the truck collided with an e-bike ridden by a 46-year-old woman. The victim was pulled under the vehicle, dragged into the middle of the road, and died at the scene.
Following the collision, the driver exited the vehicle to inspect the scene, then proceeded to drag the woman from under the truck. As he returned to the cabin, several bystanders attempted to intervene, urging him to stop, but the driver ignored their pleas and fled the scene.
Later that day, at 10:00 am, the driver reported to the Tan Hiep Ward Police. The truck was subsequently driven back to the accident site by another individual for forensic examination. Investigations revealed that a 52-year-old co-driver, originally from Ca Mau, was also present in the cabin at the time of the incident.
Authorities have initially determined that the driver failed to maintain proper observation while making the right turn. The incident remains under active investigation to clarify details and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
