Ho Chi Minh City police seek leads in body found near university

Police are appealing for information regarding the skeletal remains of a 34-year-old man, discovered near an abandoned motorbike in a grassy area.

Ho Chi Minh City police are investigating the discovery of a man's skeletal remains near Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and are appealing for public assistance. On 30/6, the Investigation Police Agency Office, Ho Chi Minh City Police, issued a notice seeking individuals with knowledge or documents related to the incident in a grassy area within the university campus, located in Dong Hoa ward, Binh Duong province, to aid in determining the cause of death.

The discovery was made on the afternoon of 25/6 when security staff from the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City Dormitory Management Center, were on patrol. They initially found an abandoned motorbike in a grassy area. Upon checking the surroundings, the staff member discovered a decomposed body, with bones exposed, along with some personal belongings, approximately 20 meters from the motorbike. The incident was immediately reported to the police.

Following a forensic examination, investigators identified the victim as Nguyen Duy Khanh, 34. His family had reported losing contact with him since 6/6.
