Charlton was recorded reaching speeds of 175-191 mph (281-307 km/h) in his GBP90,000 (3.2 billion VND) BMW X3 M Competition.
Charlton, 32, who plays for Nostell Miners Welfare FC, also filmed himself speeding. A friend also recorded him driving fast and swerving around a roundabout.
Prosecutors used video evidence and data from the car's onboard computer to charge Charlton with at least 10 instances of dangerous driving between 2022 and 2023.
A collision eventually occurred in 9/2023 in West Yorkshire. Police seized the BMW and downloaded data from its onboard computer. Charlton was arrested in 11/2023 and refused to answer questions during questioning.
The defendant's self-filmed videos, showing him accelerating and swerving while laughing, were presented as evidence in court.
Charlton pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 4 years in prison and banned from driving for 4 years and 7 months at Leeds Crown Court, the Telegraph reported on 13/8.
