On 14/8, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police announced that officers at the Nong Cong Temporary Detention Sub-camp, part of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Detention Center, observed a 29-year-old inmate exhibiting unusual health symptoms. Recognizing the severity, they immediately transported him to Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital for emergency care.

At the hospital, doctors diagnosed the inmate with a critically low platelet count. This dangerous condition could lead to severe blood clotting disorders, internal bleeding, and potentially a cerebral hemorrhage. To treat the inmate, immediate blood transfusions and platelet extraction from compatible donors were necessary.

Following the hospital's urgent request for blood, three dedicated officers from Nong Cong Temporary Detention Sub-camp stepped forward. First Lieutenant Le The Duong, First Lieutenant Nguyen Van Long, and Private Hoang Van Huy voluntarily donated their blood, providing the crucial platelets needed for the inmate's treatment.

According to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, this swift and compassionate act of blood donation by the officers in an emergency situation did more than just secure a vital blood supply for treatment. It also powerfully demonstrated the police force's deep sense of responsibility and humanity towards individuals serving sentences.
