Notorious criminal Dzung 'Ky' arrested

Nguyen Ky Dzung, known as Dzung 'Ky', a notorious criminal with multiple prior convictions, has been accused of participating in a 1.200 billion VND football betting ring.

The Criminal Police Department of Ninh Binh Provincial Police arrested Nguyen Ky Dzung, 52, residing in Nam Dinh ward, on 29/5 to investigate gambling activities.

This arrest is part of an expanded investigation into a football betting ring valued at over 1.200 billion VND. Ninh Binh Provincial Police, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, dismantled the ring four months ago, and investigators have since prosecuted 8 suspects.

According to investigators, Dzung did not admit to the crime upon arrest. However, authorities gathered sufficient documents and evidence to confirm his role in the betting ring.

Dzung has a history of prior convictions for robbery, intentional injury, and theft. He previously led a group involved in illegal lending, debt collection, and asset seizure in the former Nam Dinh area.

After his gang was dismantled, Dzung lived a secluded life but remained under police management and surveillance.
