Dmitry Kuzmin, a 42-year-old construction tycoon, was arrested on charges of inflicting severe injuries on Anzhelika after she sought to end their six-month relationship.

Anzhelika told relatives Dmitry was "controlling and jealous," forbidding her from seeing her 16-year-old son and sister. She claimed this behavior nearly cost her life before the assault.

Anzhelika's friends reported Dmitry often gave her gifts and treated the model "like a doll," but prevented her from contacting relatives.

Friends reported Anzhelika missing on 28/11, after she expressed a desire to break up with the businessman. She was found on 9/12 at Pirogov Hospital in Moskva, having undergone two weeks of intensive care.

Dmitry is accused of throwing Anzhelika onto the street with severe head injuries. A passerby helped call an ambulance. Dmitry is also accused of sending messages to Anzhelika's friends throughout the following week using her phone, pretending she was fine.

Anzhelika suffered a brutal beating, leaving her swollen and drifting in and out of consciousness. She underwent emergency skull surgery. Barely able to speak, she was identified only after several days in the hospital, when she could whisper her name to medical staff.

According to REN TV, the model told doctors she was attacked by an acquaintance on 23/11 at an apartment on Universitetsky Prospekt.

At Anzhelika's apartment, relatives found her phone, passport, diary, documents, an unpacked suitcase, and keys left in the mailbox. The room showed no signs of a struggle. Neighbors stated the last time they saw Anzhelika was when she left with an older man, believed to be Dmitry.

The Baza news channel on Telegram reported that Anzhelika had a heated argument with the wealthy businessman just before her disappearance.

Police are attempting to reconstruct the events leading to the model being beaten near death and abandoned. They are reviewing surveillance cameras, call logs, and Anzhelika's movement schedule from 21/11 until her hospitalization.

Anzhelika is an actress and model who previously owned a tanning salon. She recently moved to Moskva after her divorce. Her 16-year-old son lives with relatives in Krasnodar.
