According to the investigation, the "Hang Du Muc" brand was granted a registration certificate by the National Office of Intellectual Property to Nguyen Cong Hao, Director of Hang Du Muc Co., Ltd. Mr. Hao assigned the brand to his daughter, Nguyen Thi Thai Hang, known as TikToker Hang Du Muc, for business operations on the TikTok platform.
Since 2022, Ton Bang and Ms. Hang have been involved in importing and trading red dates. Authorities allege that Mr. Bang was aware the brand belonged to Mr. Hao and that he was not permitted to unilaterally transfer, authorize to a third party, or use it outside the authorized scope.
After divorcing Ms. Hang, Ton Bang is accused of establishing Dich Duong Company and continuing to trade red dates under the "Hang Du Muc" brand without Mr. Hao's approval.
During a search of Ton Bang's warehouse, police discovered nearly 29 tons of "Hang Du Muc" branded red dates, originating from China, valued at approximately 1.5 billion VND. The company failed to produce any relevant invoices or documents.
The case is currently under further investigation.
